The Star was awarded the 2019 Urban Land Institute Development of Distinction Award in the “For-Profit – Large” category.
Formerly known as the historic Texas Company, or Texaco, building The Star is located at 1111 Rusk Street and has been redeveloped into a 286-unit luxury apartment project. The Star was originally designed by Warren and Wetmore and was the last major Pre-WWII historic renovation opportunity remaining in downtown Houston.
Jones|Carter designed the public and private infrastructure required to serve the building and bring it into compliance with current city standards. Congratulations to The Star and to the Jones|Carter team.
