PROJECT OVERVIEW

Dove Country is a residential subdivision in Stafford, Texas that receives water and wastewater services from Fort Bend County Water Control & Improvement District No. 2 (FBC WCID No. 2). The existing water and wastewater systems serving the neighborhood were 50+ years old and had reached their design service life – causing FBC WCID No. 2 to embark on a rehabilitation project.

SERVICE DETAILS

Our team developed a construction package consisting of drawings and specifications for FBC WCID No. 2 to prevent further inflow and infiltration (I&I) in the sanitary sewer collection system and deterioration and possible health risks to the community’s water distribution system. The scope of this project involved replacing 13,500-linear feet of 12-inch, 8-inch, and 6-inch diameter water distribution mains and rehabbing or replacing 16,500-linear feet of 12-inch, 10-inch, 8-inch, and 6-inch diameter wastewater collection lines. A total of 61 wastewater manhole covers were also rehabilitated with cementitious grout and epoxy coatings.

The majority of the project was designed through trenchless construction methods to reduce the overall impact on the community and protect the environment. Special considerations were implemented in the construction phase due to the COVID pandemic.
