PROJECT OVERVIEW
Southern Pointe is a master-planned community on the former site of the Texas World Speedway (TWS) and within Brazos County’s first municipal utility district (MUD), MUD No. 1. The neighborhood is one of the largest master-planned communities in the Brazos Valley. It includes nearly 2,000 single-family homes, more than 16-acres of multi-family development, 45-acres for commercial and office space and 30-acres of green space.
SERVICE DETAILS
Our team provided design and construction services for the first section of this development, which included 150-single-family lots. We designed 7,500 linear feet of a sanitary sewer extension to connect Southern Pointe to the city’s Lick Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and oversaw the construction of a 1,100 gallon-per-minute lift station. We also worked alongside city and county officials to help create MUD No. 1, where we currently serve as District Engineer.
Additional components our team designed include two more sections of the development that include more than 200 single-family lots, the main entrance, and 6,000 linear feet of 16-inch waterline for an offsite extension.
