PROJECT OVERVIEW
What was once a recycling facility in East Austin is now a repurposed creative office space for H-E-B and delivery app Favor. 95% of the existing building was repurposed as part of the new structure, including an old rail car now being utilized as an outdoor space. Crowed the “coolest office” by the Austin Business Journal, the building boasts approximately 81,000-square feet of office space, a coffee bar, a rock-climbing wall and other unique features.
SERVICE DETAILS
Our team provided design and permitting services for several aspects of the facility, including the adjacent parking lot, which was designed to avoid the existing heritage trees; the sidewalks around the building to ensure ADA compliance and the building’s drainage and utilities. Our team also prepared the necessary documentation for the site plan exemptions required for the facility’s patio areas.
The facility was formally known as UpCycle.
