PROJECT OVERVIEW
Well 6 is a 500,000-gallon ground storage tank (GST) in Pflugerville, Texas. The tank was taken out of service due to its age and required repair items. Our team worked with the city to design a project to make the necessary repairs improvements to allow the tank to be put into service, help extend the tank’s service life and better serve the Pflugerville community.
SERVICE DETAILS
The tank’s main repair required removing and replacing the tank’s entire roof with a self-supporting dome, which benefited the city by reducing and simplifying future maintenance. The project also consisted of removing and replacing various appurtenances of the tank and blasting and recoating the tank’s interior and exterior.
The project required the design to be completed within a month, including time for the city to review and provide comments on the contract documents. The tank had also been out of service due to its condition, so it was critical the design was completed quickly so the project could go to bid as soon as possible. The project required a design schedule of 28-calendar days to be prepared to advertise the project. Quiddity completed the design phase in 22-calendar days.
