This Amazon Fulfillment Center is a 5-story, 4.8-million square foot facility on a 90-acre tract in Pflugerville, Texas.
This project site was moved from its original location as one condition for the development required the facility to be within Pflugerville city limits. Our team worked with the city and other organizations to annex and zone the site through a planned unit development (PUD) process. Our team gathered survey data that was then used to plat the tract and the adjoining street right-of-way, which created Pfenning Lane – a two-lane divided boulevard.
A gas transmission line ran through the property and crossed three proposed driveways and a large drainage structure. Navigating the gas line required extensive coordination with the utility company and meticulous construction load mapping. Electrical services were also extended to allow for electric vehicle parking with charging stations.
Our team worked closely with the developer and Amazon to create a site plan that meets the needs of the e-commerce giant. The project also helped Texas earn a Gold Shovel Award from Area Development for job creation and economic development.
