PROJECT OVERVIEW
The District owns and operates two aging package wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) for sanitary sewer service, and they use potable water to refill their multiple amenity lakes. This project constructs a permanent WWTP, consolidating and increasing the capacity of treatment services, and includes a Modified Ludzack-Ettinger (MLE) process along with tertiary filtration to reduce the concentrations of permitted contaminants. This advanced treatment allows for additional development along the receiving water body and produces Type 1 reclaimed water. Reclaimed water storage and distribution facilities are included to supply the District’s amenity lakes and eliminate the use of potable water. The project also includes thickening and dewatering facilities at the new WWTP to reduce the volume of biosolids disposed of from the site, which will reduce operating costs for the District.
SERVICE DETAILS
Our team worked in close coordination with the District, neighboring landowners, and the TCEQ to establish TPDES permit limits that pave the way for expanded development in the area. We undertook various responsibilities, including project management, design, surveying, construction management and inspection, permitting, and client management services. This encompassed the development of construction drawings, technical specifications, contract documents, acquiring a reclaimed water permit, amending the TPDES major permit, and overseeing construction management and inspection.
