PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Guadalupe-Saldana Net-Zero Subdivision is a one-of-a-kind Smart Housing community in Austin, Texas. At full development, it will include 125-total green units with 60 being “net-zero” energy-efficient units. The project includes single-family, multi-family, and townhomes for homeownership or rental along with an onsite campus featuring transitional rental housing, classrooms, gathering spaces, and a child development center for low-income single mothers through the Jeremiah Program. This Smart Housing community offers affordable housing and utility bills through its net-zero components.
SERVICE DETAILS
This formally designated brownfield site required remediation to address environmental issues along the nearby creek. Our team researched the area and developed its preliminary design. We also completed the platting, the subdivision construction plans for the single-family lots and new public road design in addition to a three-phased site plan that included the duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and the amenity center. Multiple low impact developments for stormwater management were incorporated in these plans, including biofiltration ponds and some of the city’s earliest rain gardens.
