Scanning – LiDAR

03.06.2018

DURATION 3 minute read

LiDAR, also known as Terrestrial Scanning, is a technique our survey teams use on a variety of projects including industrial developments, municipal, and TxDOT projects as well as any other situation where the technology fits the requirements of the job.

The two scanners we use are the SX – 10 and the TX – 8 both of which also feature on-board imagery and capture 26,000 and 1 million points per second, respectively. The on-board imagery is useful because some computers can be overwhelmed by the amount of data captured, so this feature enables us to turn off the point cloud and still view imagery of important features. This also allows clients who may not have scanning software to view full imagery of their projects. Visit our Surveying services page or get in touch with one of our professional surveyors for more information on our scanning techniques and the technology that we use.
