Buffalo Bayou Restoration Project Earns 2021 ENR Best Projects Award of Merit

09.21.2021

DURATION 1 minute read

The Buffalo Bayou Slope Stabilization & Bench Sediment Removal project received an Award of Merit in the Water/Environment category on Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) 2021 Best Projects list!

Following Hurricane Harvey, the bayou’s banks needed to be stabilized, erosion control issues needed to be addressed, and large volumes of sediment needed to be prevented from flowing downstream. Our team acted as the design engineer for the restoration project, which involved 16 repair sites along two miles of the bayou.

We would like to congratulate and thank the entire project team including everyone at the Harris County Flood Control District (Owner), the Buffalo Bayou Partnership (Stakeholder), Stuart Consulting (Program Manager), Cibor (Geo-Technical), Versa Infrastructure (Construction Management), and Prim (Construction).

We are proud to have helped restore the green space and increase flood resiliency for this Houston community landmark!
