PROJECT OVERVIEW
Aggie Park is located on over 20 acres on the main campus of Texas A&M University, next to Kyle Field. What was previously Spence Park has been reconditioned to provide a state-of-the-art outdoor environment for studying, relaxing, tailgating, entertainment, and recreation for students and visitors. Funded solely through the Association of Former Students and Texas A&M Foundation, the project was envisioned as an “Outdoor MSC (Memorial Student Center)” and includes enhanced tailgating space, water features, an outdoor amphitheater, a performance pavilion, public Wi-Fi, dedicated media utilities for national broadcasts, permanent Distinguished Alumni recognition, and improved infrastructure.
SERVICE DETAILS
Quiddity Engineering was selected by the General Contractor, Midway, to perform topographic and SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) services for the redesign and construction of Aggie Park. The full survey scope included the location of all above-ground features and terrain topography, SUE levels B, C, and D for underground utilities, and construction staking of the design infrastructure. The location of underground utilities proved to be particularly demanding due to the age and volume of utilities located at the project site. The Aggie Park project required extensive coordination by Quiddity Engineering with multiple utility providers as well as Texas A&M University. It was both challenging and exciting to be a part of such a prestigious project. Gig’em!
Special thanks to the College Station Survey Team for your hard work on this project!
