PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Challenger School is a private school for pre-k through 8th-grade students. Located on a 9.22-acre tract, the school includes three school buildings, two administrative buildings, and two playgrounds. It offers an award-winning curriculum that focuses on math, reading, writing, history, and logic in addition to flexible schedules, extended class times, and summer school.

SERVICE DETAILS

When designing the site grading, our team used minimal retaining walls to efficiently balance earthwork while maintaining accessible grading parameters in the school’s playground, parking lots, and sidewalk areas. Our team also prepared the plan and profile of the Challenger School’s utility connection to the 20-inch public water line within Communication Parkway, developed a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP), coordinated permitting, and provided construction phase services.

A traffic impact analysis was also conducted to determine the site’s existing conditions. Our team analyzed land use, lane assignment, posted speed limits, and current traffic control areas. Peak hour turning movement counts and an intersection analysis were also performed at six intersections and a proposed driveway.
